Why is it so Hard to Find Water over Soft Drinks in Mexico?
Soft drinks are part of Mexican culture, drinking everywhere from children to elderly.
As I wandered through the bustling streets of Mexico, I couldn’t help but notice the locals’ love affair with soft drinks. It was impossible to ignore the ubiquitous presence of these carbonated beverages in the hands of children, families, and individuals of all ages. From the smallest to the largest bottles, Mexicans proudly carried their favorite soft drinks as they went about their day.
Everywhere I turned, whether it was a lively marketplace or a busy street corner, the sight of people joyfully sipping on their carbonated beverages greeted me. The sound of the familiar “pop” as a bottle was opened, followed by the satisfying fizz and the refreshing taste that ensued, seemed to bring a sense of delight and satisfaction to those indulging in these sugary drinks.
I recall the moment I found myself in the midst of a lively Mexican fiesta, where music, laughter, and celebration filled the air. The sound of clinking glasses and the rhythmic cheers of “Salud!” filled the atmosphere. It seemed as though beer and soft drinks were flowing endlessly, as if the party itself depended on their fizzy presence.
