The Night of Dia de Muertos: Visiting Panteon de Dolores Mexico City
Not all cemeteries in Mexico City are crowded on the night of Dia de los Muertos.
Visiting cemeteries on the nights of November 1st and 2nd is a common tradition during Dia de Muertos. This beautiful custom has drawn thousands of tourists seeking to experience the lively and vibrant atmosphere of the celebration.
This year, instead of returning to San Andres Mixquic as I did the previous year, I decided to explore a different cemetery, Panteon de Dolores, which was conveniently close to my home.
I took a bus to reach the graveyard, and to my surprise, the road was not jammed. In just 10 minutes, I found myself at the entrance and greeted by the cemetery’s gate was adorned with an abundance of colorful decorations, and the place was already bustling with locals and tourists.
