As December unfolds, bringing us just four weeks away from a new year, time seems to fly. But hold on, have you ever wondered what Mexico City looked like in this month?

After the vibrant display of orange hues from the Cempasuchil, a marigold flower traditionally associated with the Day of the Dead, Mexico City undergoes a captivating transformation. The city turns into a breathtaking sea of red as La Flor deNochebuena blooms throughout the city.

La Flor de Nochebuena (which means the flower of Christmas Eve), also known as the poinsettias, has become a symbol of Christmas in Mexico, with its vibrant red and green colors reflecting the festive vibes.

Meanwhile, a vibrant market on Reforma Street enhances the holiday charm, showcasing an array of Christmas decorations. This market, annually frequented by people eager to adorn their homes with the beauty of Nochebuena flowers, remains a cherished tradition. As I walked through, it was as if I’d entered a colorful wonderland. The Flor Nochebuena, with its radiant colors, pleases the eyes, while the small piñatas hanging above contribute to a joyous atmosphere. The air is filled with the spirit of celebration as people select these beautiful decorations to bring the festive season into their homes.
