I Got To See a Solar Eclipse For The First Time

I just got back from witnessing a solar eclipse in Mexico City, and it was a truly remarkable experience, especially since it was my first time encountering such an event.

I started my day by leaving my apartment around 10 a.m. and taking a stroll down Paseo de la Reforma towards the Angel de la Independencia.

As I arrived, I spotted several merchants selling eclipse glasses.

Of course, I bought one for myself for 50 pesos, and then I joined the crowd gathering around the monument.

By 11 a.m., people of all ages had gathered, each holding their glasses. Every minute, heads tilted upwards as they checked the progress of the solar spectacle.

Around 12:10 p.m., the sunny sky began to fade (around 80% obscured, not the total…
